The Brief

Back to products

Harrogate Flower Show takes place twice a year, in the Spring and the Autumn, at Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate. Harrison Creative have supplied all of the branding for these prestigious events for a number of years, working closely with the show director to provide high quality branded materials that deliver impact and help attendees navigate their way around the site conveniently.

The Harrogate Flower Show is run by the North of England Horticultural Society (NEHS), a leading gardening charity that was set up more than 100 years ago to support and promote horticulture across the north. The Harrogate Flower Shows are widely regarding as the biggest and most prestigious independent shows in the gardening year, with the Spring show rated as Britain’s best gardening event by Which? Gardening and its sister show in the Autumn ranking third in the country.

The events each welcome around 100 of the UK’s top plant nurseries, as well as featuring the work of established and up-and-coming garden designers and landscapers. There’s also a packed programme of events including a garden theatre, food theatre, floral art, crafts and gifts, garden shopping as well as the show gardens themselves where visitors can take inspiration for their own outdoor spaces.

What We Did

With so much going on at each show and with both the Spring and Autumn show running over 3 days, a wide variety of branded materials are recommended by Harrison Creative to ensure visitors find what they’re looking for across the site and the site is dressed to complement this well-established event brand.

To welcome the 40,000 visitors to the event a large banner made from knitted polyester was attached under the main entrance and the exterior branding continued with PVC banners mounted onto wooden boards that assisted in directing visitors to the various zones. Inside the organisers chose our traditional temporary flagpoles with a gold finial that come complete with a planter and portrait flag to promote their event as well as a number of hanging PVC banners that were used as directional signage and created interest at height for attendees.  Large Foamex panels mounted on to wooden structures were also used inside to provide additional information and finally a showstopping hanging centrepiece was created on a décor light backdrop. This backdrop was the focal point of the ‘Back to the Future’ display which was designed to depict Newby Hall & Gardens, Harrogate Flower Show’s new home from Autumn 2020 onwards.
